Storytelling Resources

Tools for telling your story safely.

Storytelling is how MFGP started, and how families are believed. These resources help youth ages 12–24 (Opportunity Youth / TAY), caregivers, and organizations share stories with agency and care — through writing, video, and art — without turning a person into a case study.

What’s in this collection

Writing prompts & templates

Story starters for youth and caregivers, plus letter and journal templates for family connection.

Video & interview tools

Interview question banks, release language, and simple production checklists for phone-shot stories.

Consent & care guidance

How to decide what to share, what to hold back, and how to revisit consent as a young person grows.

Our consent-and-care standards

  • A young person's story belongs to the young person, not the program
  • Consent is revisited, never assumed from a single signature
  • Nobody has to relive the hardest day to be believed
  • Anonymity and pseudonyms are valid, respected choices
  • Support is arranged before a story is told, not after
