Cedric Young is the Director of Community Engagement at MyFairyGodParents.org, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting justice-impacted youth and their families. As the father of Anyé Young, Cedric brings a deeply personal perspective to his role, having experienced the challenges of incarceration firsthand. Released from prison in 2022, Cedric has since dedicated his life to advocating for the abolition of mandatory minimum sentences and supporting families affected by the criminal justice system.
In his role, Cedric focuses on building strong relationships within the community, fostering partnerships, and creating programs that provide essential resources and support to justice-impacted youth. His unique insights and experiences enable him to connect with families on a profound level, offering empathy, guidance, and hope.

April Miller is the dedicated Chief Administrative Officer at MyFairyGodParents.org, a nonprofit organization committed to supporting justice-impacted youth and their families. She is the author of the book “Teen Guide to Living With Incarcerated Parents,” which provides valuable insights and guidance for teens navigating the challenges of having a parent in prison.
In her role as Youth Coordinator, Anyé brings a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the issues faced by justice-impacted youth. She is actively involved in developing and implementing programs that provide mentorship, educational resources, and emotional support to young people affected by incarceration. Anyé is also a key contributor to the documentary film project #FKLMdoc, which aims to shed light on the impact of mandatory minimum sentencing laws on families and advocate for prison reform.
