Workplace giving & matching gifts
What it is: many employers let you give straight from your paycheck (payroll deduction) and will match what you give — often dollar for dollar, sometimes two-for-one. The match is money your employer has already set aside for charitable giving; if nobody claims it, it goes unused.
What it looks like: you log into your company's giving portal (Benevity, YourCause, Bright Funds, Deloitte WeGive, and similar), search for our organization by name, choose an amount and a frequency, and submit. If you already gave with a card, most portals also have a "submit a match request" option where you upload your receipt.
You set up $50 a month through payroll — $600 a year. Your employer matches dollar for dollar, so MFGP receives $1,200 a year. That's enough to underwrite workshop materials for a full cohort of youth, and your take-home pay only changed by about $12 a week.
Details your employer portal will ask for:
- Legal name
- My Fairy GodParents (MFGP)
- Mailing address
- 1968 S Coast Hwy #4248, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
- donate@MyFairyGodparents.org
- EIN / W-9
- Email us and we'll send our EIN and a signed W-9 the same business day.
Some employers also match volunteer hours with a cash grant. If you volunteer with us, ask your HR team about "volunteer grants" or "dollars for doers" — and tell us so we can verify your hours.
