Crafters Workshop
A multi-disciplinary, multicultural initiative designed to provide a creative and supportive environment for at-risk youth, particularly those with incarcerated parents. The program harnesses the power of arts-based programming to foster personal growth, cultural expression, and community engagement.
Objectives
- Promote creative expression: Encourage youth to explore and express their creativity through various art forms.
- Support emotional well-being: Provide a safe space for youth to process their emotions and experiences through artistic activities.

Key components
Artistic workshops
Visual arts classes in painting, drawing, and sculpture; performing arts workshops in dance, theater, and music; and literary arts sessions in creative writing and poetry.
Cultural programs
Cultural celebrations and activities that honor diverse traditions and promote inclusivity, plus guest artists from diverse backgrounds who lead workshops and share their experiences.
Emotional support
Art therapy sessions led by trained art therapists help youth process emotions and experiences, and facilitated support groups give youth space to share their stories.
Community engagement
Collaborative community art projects involving youth, families, and local residents, plus exhibitions and performances where youth showcase their work and talents.
Impact
