With the launch of our newly revamped website, My Fairy GodParents is proud to announce that our new storytelling resources for youth, caregivers, and community partners are now live and available to download.
These resources were created to support families navigating the impact of incarceration while helping young people and caregivers find language for experiences that can be difficult to explain. For many families, the hardest part is not only living through the experience, but finding safe, affirming ways to talk about it.
MFGP believes storytelling can be a powerful tool for healing, education, and connection. A story can help a young person process feelings. It can help a caregiver start a conversation. It can help an organization understand the importance of trauma-informed, family-centered support.

The resources now available on the new site include guides, templates, prompts, and practical tools that encourage reflection, communication, and advocacy. They are designed to be accessible, supportive, and easy to use across different settings, including homes, schools, workshops, mentoring programs, and nonprofit spaces.
These materials also reflect MFGP’s larger commitment to resource-building. Families impacted by incarceration often need support that is both emotionally aware and practically useful. By creating tools that center lived experience, MFGP helps bridge the gap between storytelling and action.
The resources are not meant to force anyone to share more than they are ready to share. Instead, they offer structure, encouragement, and choice. They give young people and caregivers a way to explore their experiences at their own pace.
As MFGP continues to grow its resource hub, these tools will help strengthen the organization’s ability to support families, amplify youth voices, and equip communities with meaningful materials.
