Our Team

LaDàna Young is the Founder & Executive Director of My Fairy GodParents (MFGP), a storytelling-centered nonprofit supporting youth, caregivers, and families impacted by incarceration. Her leadership is informed by lived experience, strategic communications insight, and a deep commitment to justice, healing, visibility, and opportunity.

She leads MFGP's work at the intersection of storytelling, family support, public education, and community partnership-building, helping transform lived experience into practical resources, advocacy, and impact.

Anyé Young is the author of Teen Guide to Living With Incarcerated Parents and a youth advocate whose work speaks directly to young people navigating the emotional, social, and personal impact of parental incarceration. Through her writing and advocacy, she helps make space for conversations that are often overlooked, misunderstood, or left unspoken.

Selected for the 2026 Osborne Fellowship, Anyé serves as MFGP's Youth Coordinator, helping shape youth-centered programming, storytelling, and resources so that young people are seen, heard, supported, and equipped with tools that honor their experiences.

Derricka M. is an ed-tech professional with a passion for community engagement. As Board Development & Correspondence Chair, Derricka oversees the development of MFGP's board for both current and future leadership. She also manages the official written communications sent on behalf of MFGP. In her spare time, Derricka enjoys doing sudoku puzzles, tending to her plants, and planning her next weekend getaway.
